From Colonel to Commander Cardboard, Jagged Fel has followed in his father's footsteps as an amazing pilot and prominent leader among the Chiss people. Born on the planet Nirauan, seven years after the Battle of Yavin, Jag is the eldest surviving son of Soontir Fel and Syal Antilles (yep, that does make him General Wedge Antilles' nephew). Jag does have two surviving siblings, a younger sister, Wyn, and a shadow brother, Cem. The other Fel children - Chak, Davin, and Cherith - are all deceased.

Jag is often described as ruggedly handsome in the series, with green eyes and a scar that runs from his right eye and across his forehead to his hairline. Despite his short black hair, there is a patch of white near the scar. Yes, boys and girls, you've guessed it. Jag Fel just so happens to match the definitive description of men Jaina Solo fancies. In fact, aside from his piloting skills, Jag's probably most notably known as the boyfriend of said Jedi Knight. But that's getting ahead of ourselves in this story.

Jag was raised on Csilla among the Chiss. As one of the few humans on the planet, Jag strived to excel and be accepted as one of their own. Many often critique Jag for lacking a personality, but that is, in fact, not the case. Jag's personality comes from living among the Chiss, thus becoming a reserved, grim, rather workaholic, dedicated individual. Yet, Jag is the son of two full blooded Corellians, and as the New Jedi Order novels progress, Jaina helps to bring out a softer, more fun-loving side to the Imperial pilot.

He makes his first appearance in the novel Dark Tide: Ruin by Michael Stackpole, leading his Spike Squadron (part of the Chiss Expansionary Defense Force) at the Battle of Garqi to aid the losing New Republic. Not too long after the battle, he met Jaina for the first time, in which she tried telling herself that she wouldn't fall for someone who thought that grim was a normal state being. As we discovered, eight books later, that was one promise Jaina Solo was unable to keep.

Jag Fel served as a Colonel with the New Republic, and the later formed Galactic Federation of Free Alliances, through out the duration of the Yuuzhan Vong War. He flew at Hapes, Coruscant, Borleias, and countless other planets and battles in the conflict, spending his downtime getting to know and woo Jaina. Aside from the initial Spike Squadron, Jag also lead the Chiss squadron Vanguard, and was a part of, and one time leader, of the Twin Suns, his preferred vehicle of choice being, with little surprise, a Chiss clawcraft. Jag's relationship with Jaina lasted for the second half of the war, until the couple parted their separate ways on Coruscant, Jag taking a job as a diplomatic liaison to the Galacic Alliance for the CEDF.

However, despite the feelings Jaina and Jagged felt for each other, the relationship was not made to last, as Jaina became more emotionally distant from anyone not a part of the Myrkr strike team. The five years not only meant the loss of his love, but a promotion among the Chiss, serving now as a commander in the CEDF. He was involved in the conflict at Qoribu, leading a Chiss navy against the Killiks, and Joiner Jedi as he reverted back to his serious, stiff personality. With Jaina and Zekk's help, he was able to help divert a full fledge war between the Killiks and Chiss.

His last mention has been in The Joiner King by Troy Denning, saying goodbyes to his old girlfriend, and continuing on with his military career as a Chiss commander.
